BLI Cohort 2025
We are announcing the opening of the application of our second Brava Leadership Institute (BLI). A 20 person cohort that will train on the skills necessary to lead their teams, reflect with other leaders on systemic and communal challenges, and plan for their teams and their own development through the year.
The BLI 2025 cohort will retreat three times throughout the year - twice in person in Pasadena, CA and once online. The cohort will meet twice a month. Once for a monthly training session and second for monthly peer support check-ins.
For the last four years Brava Leaders has worked with hundreds of people on this basic premise: Institutions have been built to support and enable segregation. When many of the “best practices” in social change, business, and the arts are practiced in multiracial/multicultural institutions - it ends up blowing up in the faces of leaders, who are desperately seeking any resources to help their internal duress, leaving those institutions even worse off than they started.
If we want true multiracial/multicultural institutions, we will have to create new social, economic, and physical norms that enable their success. This is a creation space. We have been committed to sharing the tools, frameworks, and reflections that support a new generation of leadership.
At Brava Leaders, we define multiracial institutions as at least 20% BIPOC and 40% women and femmes at all levels of leadership. If you are a leader with consequential decision making power in your institution, we invite you to apply.

Ethos
This institute is led specifically through a pro-Black pro-immigrant, pro-LGBTQIA+, pro-working class, pro-disability justice lens. Participants are signing up to learn a vulnerable leadership style that examines systems. This requires robust participation to be effective. Please read through our ethos, beliefs, and values on our website to ensure this is a fit for you.
Level of Leadership
This institute is specifically designed for leaders with consequential decision-making power. In many places this means C-suite or executive leadership roles. However, some institutions do not work off that title structure. We will not limit selection to title, but to responsibility. If you manage the largest tradeoffs between financial sustainability, culture, and impact/product in your institution - this institute is designed for you.
Tuition
The tuition cost for our 2025 Cohort is $2,000 plus the cost of flight and hotel accommodations for our two in person gatherings in Pasadena/Los Angeles, CA.
The operational cost per person would normally be $5K to $10K based off your institutional budget - with help from Marguerite Casey Foundation - we are able to subsidize the tuition. If the cost is prohibitive, please reach out.
